Western Wonder Recipes: #5. Pasta Cheese Omelette


Not sure what to do with your leftover pasta?
This dish can be ideal for your next meal!


Ingredients
  • 100 g. cooked fusilli pasta or any other shapes 
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup finely diced onion
  • 3 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons cooked minced pork
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
How to Cook
  • Melt 1 tbsp of the butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Then add the onion.
 

  • Stir frequently, until golden brown. Set aside.
 
  • Add 2 eggs to a mixing bowl. Whisk for a minute.
 
  • Add 2 diced slices of cheddar cheese.



  • Add the sautéed onions.

  • Add 2 tbsp of cooked minced pork.
  • Add 1 tbsp of salt and ½ tbsp of oregano and mix well.
 
  • Add the cooked pasta and mix all the ingredients until well combined.
 
  • Lightly coat the pan with 1 tbsp cooking oil.

  • Once the pan is hot, pour in the omelette mixture.
  • Cook for a few minutes until the bottom of the omelette has set.
  • Then carefully flip the omelette over.

  • Continue cooking the omelette until golden brown and cooked through 
  • (no runny egg left). 

  • Transfer omelette to a serving plate.


  • Top the omelette with 1 slice cheddar cheese. Then place it in the oven at 100 degree C for a few minutes or just until the cheese starts to melt

 

SERVE HOT RIGHT AWAY!

Western Wonder Recipes: #4. Ham & Egg & Melted Cheese Croissant Sandwich


The perfect combination of a warm, buttery croissant with fried egg, ham and delicious melted cheese can be a lovely breakfast, light lunch or afternoon snack.

Ingredients
  • 1 Freshly baked butter croissant
  • 3 tablespoons Softened butter
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 1 slice Smoked ham
  • 1 egg
  • Pinch of salt
How to cook
  • Slice the croissant in half horizontally.
 
  • Spread 2 tbsp butter over both sides. 
 
  • Heat a pan over medium heat. 
  • Add the croissant, butter side down until golden.
  • Flip the croissant and set aside.
 

  • Add 1 tbsp butter to the pan over medium heat and let it melt. 
  • Add the egg.
 


  •  Flip the egg over, let the yolk cooked through. And set aside.
 


  • Add the smoked ham and sauté until lightly browned. Set aside.

 

  • Place a fried egg on top of the croissant. Add a pinch of salt to the fried egg.
  • Place the cheese slice over fried egg.
  • Place the smoked ham over cheese.



  • Fold the croissant down. Garnished with the other slice of cheese, roll and place on top.


Serve immediately while it is still warm and melts-in-your-mouth!

East Meets West Recipes: #3. Fried Brown Rice with Cheesy German Sausages


Brown rice is rich in vitamin B6, Fiber and Selenium.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups pre-cooked chilled brown jasmine rice (Note: Day-old rice is dryer, and reduces the chances of the dish turning out too wet.)
  • 1 onion, sliced thin
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 g. cheesy German sausages, diced and/or sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of fish sauce or salt
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of cooking oil 

How to cook
  • Heat a frying pan and add 1 tablespoon cooking oil. When the oil is hot, add onion. Stirring, on medium heat until lightly browned.
 
  • Add eggs, stirring until they are lightly scrambled. 
 
  • Add sausages. Stir-fry the sausage for a few minutes.

 
  • Add cooked brown rice, mix well. 
 

  • Season with fish sauce and soy sauce. Taste the food, if not flavorful enough, add some more sauces. 
 
  • Continue to stir-fry for another 5 minutes until the rice is heated through and well mixed.
  • Remove from heat. 
 

  • Shape up your fried rice with your favorite cartoon character, and garnished with a ketchup smile


Serve hot!
